What is TOEFL

The TOEFL is the length of the Test Of English as a Foreign Language (United Kingdom Language Test as a foreign language), made by ETS (Educational Testing Service), an agency in the United States.

The TOEFL test is required for college admission requirements in almost all universities in the United States and Canada who then also for students who apply to the University of Europe and Australia. This test program undergraduate (S-1) and the graduate (or S-2 S-3).

In general this test is to assess:

1. The student has writing skills and grammar in the language of the United Kingdom to make scientific writings.

2. A student has the ability to read the language of the United Kingdom with good and right in order to be later able to understand books textbook required.

3. A student has the ability to listen well and right about the description afforded in English lecturer United Kingdom.


Generally this test takes about three hours and is organized in 4 sections, namely section:

• grammar structure and written expression

• listening comprehension

• reading comprehension

• writing.

What is the Function of TOEFL?

TOEFL has two general purpose: Academic and General.
The goal of the academic TOEFL is for educational purposes, research or academic activities related to overseas, or in Indonesia. For under graduate, usually minimal value is 550 for the fresh Graduate is 500.
General purpose (general) is generally used in the field of employment, promotion or assignment work. A lot of companies put up the standard of English of their employees by viewing the TOEFL. Generally, the minimum TOEFL score is 500 for the promotion of standards.



What is the uneasily thing of the TOEFL test ?


The part of TOEFL test are 4 section : Grammar and written, Reading, Listening.


 I was a student at one of famous course place . LIA is  my place that i learned english. when i did a grammar test, so many thing i did not know well enought.  such as ; vocabularies, structure, sentences and so on. The problem of the richness of vocabulary. Very reasonable if a person is experiencing difficulty in pronouncing and speak English when you don't have enough vocabulary. In addition, in the language of the United Kingdom, there are words that have double meanings and words that form the idiom.

The issue of the allocation of time. In the TOEFL test there are many questions that must be resolved in a fast tempo, so you are required to be able to mengefiensikan your time appropriately and effectively. When you fail to govern the use of your time during the test, the given time may not be quite so you can't work on all questions with either.

The issue of pronunciation. We know indeed United Kingdom Language has a different pronunciation to Indonesia so that will require extra effort to his studies. This will be one of the first constraint when facing a SPEAKING SESSION You are required to be able to pronounce every word correctly.
